Everybody Wins.

We provide cost-effective, large scale clearance solutions that promote the ethical reuse of furniture and equipment whilst also supporting our client’s environmental, social, and governance ambitions and as part of our service we also produce videos and reports to provide customers with auditable evidence of their sound investment.

On average, 97% of the goods we clear have been re-used, just 3% have been recycled, and none of it has been sent to landfill.

The Challenge

For our last project of 2020, we were delighted to be tasked by our partners, CBRE, to undertake the ethical clearance of over 800 seating positions, meeting areas and kitchen equipment from five floors of Domestic & General’s Wimbledon site.

For over 100 years, Domestic & General have been the trusted provider of aftercare for millions of domestic appliances. Today, they are the nation’s leading provider for breakdown protection and akin to our core values on sustainability, they believe in ‘Repair First’ ethos. They provide maintenance and support for a broad range of domestic products and consumer electronics, from TV, to washing machines to boilers.

The Results

Tonnes of Equipment Cleared

Reuse Rate

We are truly delighted with the results of this project. The clearance equated to an estimated 50 tonnes of equipment which have successfully been diverted from the national waste stream.

The CSR and Environmental outcomes for this project were excellent, with 100% going to ethical reuse.

In keeping with Domestic & General’s ‘Repair First’ ethos, these items haven’t simply been unnecessarily disposed of. Instead, through Waste to Wonder, they’re enjoying their second life through our charitable partners and making a real difference to those in need.

Once again we would like to extend our heartfelt thank you to the CBRE FM team and to Domestic & General for your support, and we are thrilled to share yet another outstanding CSR and environmental success to springboard us in to 2021 with.

The Legacy

The CSR and Environmental commitment of Domestic and General and CBRE has enabled tonnes of perfectly reusable equipment to enjoy a second life enhancing opportunities for others in Limbe, Cameroon and Sacele, Romania.

Our recipient organisations – The Mokwe Development Association in Cameroon and FAST Romania – are passionate advocates for helping disadvantaged young people by providing health, social and educational support for hundreds of families. Their causes are truly inspiring and each School in a Box donation makes a considerable difference to this organisations.

In fact, we were so happy to hear that FAST Romania are even building a second Mission House School as a result of their First Mission House School proving so successful. They recently shared how they were able to deploy some of the table tops as concrete moulds for the retaining walls for the new building.

Our charity partners are constantly proving that with ingenuity and passion, our customers’ redundant items really can do something wonderful, something which is certainly something refreshing to start 2021 with.
