Everybody Wins.

We provide cost-effective, large scale clearance solutions that promote the ethical reuse of furniture and equipment whilst also supporting our client’s environmental, social, and governance ambitions and as part of our service we also produce videos and reports to provide customers with auditable evidence of their sound investment.

On average, 97% of the goods we clear have been re-used, just 3% have been recycled, and none of it has been sent to landfill.

An increasing number of corporate organisations have a strong desire to do good for the world. Their core values are clear and their intentions are good. But discovering creative opportunities to demonstrate their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility can be tough.

Insight is an IT and Data Solutions company who are dedicated to being a ‘good corporate citizen’. Their commitment to doing wider good and implementing sustainable practices is long-established.

One of the ways they were able to act on these core principles was the opportunity they saw that came with an office clearance project.

As is the case with many of our valued customers, in 2019 Insight was undergoing an office move to a new premise in Stockholm, Sweden. As the only clearance provider who guarantees an 80% reuse rate, Waste to Wonder was a natural choice to support Insight with their relocation.

In this first project, Waste to Wonder delivered incredible results and was able to achieve 100% reuse rate. This meant that every single item of furniture and equipment was donated to both School in a Box and Swedish charities.

Following the success of the Stockholm project, Insight commissioned Waste to Wonder for another project in 2020. This time, the UK division of Insight was relocating from its 46,000 square foot location in Uxbridge to a new, modern and agile working environment. The second project was equally successful, achieving a remarkable 100% reuse rate for the second time.

Donated to our international School in a Box programme, the equipment from both projects were predominantly sent to two fantastic organisations: the Mokwe Development Association in Cameroon, and FAST in Romania.

This way, instead of being sent for recycling, or worse landfill, the furniture gets a second lease of life, and makes a significant difference to young people around the world. Along with equipping schools and charity buildings, some items were repurposed or used to raise crucial funds.

As with so many charitable organisations, the pandemic has put a strain on the Mokwe Development Organisations and FAST Romania. In many cases, generous donations from partners such as Insight are the only thing keeping them in operation.

Furniture donations from our corporate partners allow these charities to continue the crucial provision of education, advocacy, health and social care within their communities.

Insight bases its practices on three core principles: hunger, heart, and harmony. That means striving to do better, improving the lives of others, and working collaboratively across teams and across the globe.

Far from being a box-checking exercise, the alignment of values between Insight and Waste to Wonder was clear from the get-go.

Many of our customers are so delighted with the efficiency of the process, the CSR results, and the overall good feeling that comes with donating that they decide to partner with Waste to Wonder on an ongoing basis. Following the success of the Stockholm project, Insight commissioned Waste to Wonder to manage the ethical redistribution of further redundant furniture in 2020.

As Ken Lamneck, President and Chief Executive Officer at Insight, says:

“Our goal at Insight is to make meaningful connections that positively impact the lives of the people we serve, including our clients, partners and teammates.”

We at Waste to Wonder look forward to our continued partnership, and the good we’ll be able to do for others through our collaborative work.
